POTTER!

Holy crap! The new Harry Potter film's trailer just arrived online - and it looks AMAZING!! Go check it out
  • here

  • I have enjoyed the Potter series from afar, only watching the films - never reading any of the books - though, I do plan to read them.

The other films have been pretty good. I think I enjoyed the Sorceror's Stone the most - finding the Prisoner of Azkaban the least likeable (though most visually adventureous!!).

The new film is directed by Mike Newell - Mr. "Four Weddings and a Funeral - Donnie Brosco" - taking on a Harry Potter flick! This movie could be phenomenally good! Go check it out for yerselfs!!!

We finished "Rescue Me" yesterday - kind of a lackluster end to what started as a great season. Also, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" ran its season finale - if you missed this show... shame on you!!!

And it's Buttercup by a "leg"

    Hello all Damfinites,

BC is now resting in our big ass bed with an icewater circulating contraption on her knee
(Robert Gallery owns his own I was told by the demo chick) and has about 800mgs of
codine pumping in her Ponchero's burrito fed body!

Thanks for all the "good vibes" crew!

Now, the job of man slave begins anew for the sheriff.

    Wouldn't change a thing!

Keep on rocking in the free world folks.

    Sheriff out.......

Pippi never needed no knee op!

Today is the day - in fact, I think the kids are headed into the hospital as we speak. Drea goes in for her knee surgery today and will be spending the next several weeks recovering and rebuilding strength in it.

We need to send some love out to the Sheriff and Buttercup - even though at this moment they are both tan and wordly and we are pale and homely.

WE LOVE YOU GUYS! All will be good.

    News from the front;

Gilmore came and went - no spoilers here for Miss KJ - she has a VHS copy of the ep on my desk waiting for her. I did not get to watch it live, we had football practice and then visited my stepmother in the hospital - so I got to watch it at 9 pm. Then the DVR died - we freaked out, Jer accepted he would not get to view - then all of the sudden at 11:30 pm it started working (after we ordered a new one while being on the phone with Dish for an hour). Crazy.

    worst. weekend. ever

What the hell just happened?!?! I left work - drove home - and a sh*t storm hit me.

Ok, so we all know Iowa got their butts kicked by State this weekend. That sucked - that really sucked. It was an unbelievable game, complete with Tate concussion and 0 touchdowns!! Josh, Dan and I just sat there in shock... unable to even get angry.

Add to this a major mom flip out - the Raiders losing (though that is more Dan's troubles) - a loss in Monopoly - a druken prank gone bad (I ended up passed out on the living room floor in my boxers) - and an overall sense of being a major loser!

Now, we arrive to Flag Football. First off, our shirts were screwed up. The above image is the front of the shirt, which is fine and dandy - but the backs were a completely different color (and the lady who made the shirts claimed WE chose two colors - crack whore!!). So, the shirts kinda suck!

Next, we arrive at the field to find that no other team has made shirts - so we kinda look like tools (take into account we are now in the Des Moines league - WDM league everyone had shirst made). Then the team we had to play arrived. Holy sh*t.

They had nearly 24 players on the team - 2 different offensive and defensive teams - a coach - and a slew of mouthy kids and fans. We got our asses handed to us 30-0. Half of our team stormed off in anger and the rest kind of befuddly wondered when we should practice again.

I wound up with a nice sized bruise on my leg (a 300 lb gorilla decided to see if my shin would break in two by kicking it!). It ruled!! Pics below.

The team meets and looks on in horror!

Jed is assured the other team is drunk and will fold easily (nothing like seeing a 40 sitting out in a park full of kids!)

Dan meets with the team to beg for mercy.

The Bags catch their breath in between touchdowns (by our opponents).

Is the game over? Or is this half-time?

That's it - I am done posting this crap. We will do much better next weekend... or I am taking up smoking crack again!

    Mire mi tuerca!!!

Master Baiter Sheriff Officer Greg and his dear Buttercup have returned from their travels abroad. I have not spoken with them... my jealousy is still burning... and I am in no mood to look at these beautiful pics - never the less, here are some brilliant photos.

Commentary is to be added by the Sheriff in the comments (though I might have to drop a few of my own).

Greg - on the bus heading to the resort - in mid seizure.

The hole in the world they stayed in (RAT BASTARDS!!!)

Drea swimming - keeping the ocean warm... ewww.

Greg and Mark - showing off their man meat.

This is the ocean... Greg tainted that!

    Mark & Andrea - Greg & Drea

Greg - giving us some nut lovin.

The kids looking happy - this is a keeper (and one of the few where you don't see vag! Ah - vag - you crazy mexican towel boy - always getting in the photos!)

When the hell did Kreitner become the Carrot-Top of trip photos?

Drea and Andrea - they trade off the "An" every once in a while.

Final pic - the Sheriff - given his posse some love!

Let the envious souls pour out their bitter words of congrats and jealousy.

Drea and Greg... me want to go next time!

    Are you kidding me?

Why is it that I come home to lunch subjected to garbage!? URGH
    You will pay Mr. Findlay

    Cool pics

See - I am not insane!!

    Sing it Hank!

Tonight is the opening of the NFL season and the beginning of Fantasy Football matchups. I happen to be playing against our own urnotme this week - doubtful that success will be had, but it will be interesting. Krysta is also in our league... but I suppose Dan her boyfriend is the one we should talk smack with.

Tonights game is the New England Patriots vs the Oakland Raiders - last years Super Bowl Champs taking on last years joke of a team (granted - I felt for Stevens having to pull for them last year).

The matchup tonight should be far more entertaining - with Oakland trying out what is almost a new team, and the Patriots touting a lossless record at home for two full seasons... we will have to wait and see.

Beers and pizza tonight - the game is on!!!

    One last note - if you did not see the 2001 playoff game that the Raiders and Patriots shared... it was one of the wildest and most stunning games in recent history. I remember being in a bar in Iowa City, sipping on a beer, watching the game intensely. Thinking with my precocious artistic mind of how beautiful the snow was covering the events - how dramatic it made it all seem. Here is how it played out;

"An overturned call early in the 2001 season playoffs set the stage for the Patriots' first Super Bowl victory. Trailing 13-3 in the fourth quarter of an AFC divisional playoff against the Raiders, New England wound up winning 16-13 in overtime on a 23-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri.

The game had classic late-season weather. The game-time temperature at New England was 25 degrees, 5 inches of snow had fallen and the snow continued throughout the game. Down 13-10 with 1:43 left, Tom Brady was looking to throw from his own 48 when Oakland's Charles Woodson blitzed, hitting Brady and causing what appeared to be a fumble on first down. The play was reviewed by instant replay and overturned, with referees saying Brady's arm was going forward to pass and was not "tucked" into his body. After one Vinatieri field goal to force overtime, the Patriots finished off the Raiders, opening OT with a 15-play, 61-yard drive and getting another field goal from Vinatieri."

    And Dan Stevens wept.

    Good day all - Yo

    Anybody up for........

....some ticket scalping at the Iowa/Iowa State game this Saturday? (I got it off!!!)

....the Raiders/Patriots game in semi-high def?

....watching us play flag football on Sunday in our The Colostomy Bags T-shirts?

    ....opening nfl/fantasy football weekend?

....Rockstar: INXS tonight (the best reality series yet--which really isn't saying much, but...)?

....clownin' jed's geyass shirt from his reunion?

    ....................?

BTW don't forget to check out that link in the title of Anybody up for... I laughed my ass off!

The end of the world as we know it...

Somewhere between the booze, boys, and bands, summer has slipped into a black hole and disappeared. So...in true form of the Damfinoblog, I present you with my top summer events.

    1. Motley Crue. What can I say? Tommy Lee's abs were amazing. Oh and just so everyone knows, when they set off the fire on stage, we were close enough to feel the heat. And..by the way, the cigarette toting junkie behind us was smoking alternative plants. The concert totally rocked - over 3 hours of loud guitars and drums and some really old guy (Vince) screaming "AHHHH" into the microphone. Therefore, it was super easy to sing along.

    2. Iowa State Fair. The people were fantastic and pulled out all the stops when getting properly dressed for the best state fair in the world. I have to admit though, the food is better in Minnesota and their slogan, "The great Minnesota Get together" is better than ours. But...the butter cow, beer, beef sandwiches and Brad Paisley made up for it. Let's not forget that Keith Urban was also wonderful and totally rocked out .... at one point he was singing me love songs and the world disappeared. Ahhhhh......

    3. Dan Band. Good time. Watch their Bravo special if you can. Funny....great dancers, but way too many people crammed in one bar at one point in time.

    4. 4th of July. Where else can you see everyone you ever met and went to school with? At the 4th of July watching the big tractors roll through town during the parade. The band at the bar was good. The homemade pie was unbelieveable and the weather was nice. However, it is an interesting social study because anyone who has EVER had any connection with the small town shows up just for this one day. That did lead to seeing some people from the past who can stay in the past, but you'll have that.

    5. Middle River, Minnesota. And...to wrap it all up, the trip last weekend to Middle River. It's a town of 300 people who all care about each other and spread gossip like wild fire. However, since it is so close to Canada, I got to see much of the great state of Minnesota and quite a bit of wild life.

Anyway....hope you all had a great summer too and send happy studying thoughts my way so that by next summer I have two degrees and a damn job.

    Pathetic Update!

This is a pic from my class reunion - notice me hiding behind everyone... curling up with a bottle of beer... ready to cry my evening away in a corner.

    My life rules!

    "I gotsta icee-thef*ck-hot me up!"

The above quote was made by Dan Stevens, yesterday after football practice. Things are going well... hmmm... or rather, things are going. Look forward to a report after the first game this coming Sunday.

But the main event of the Labor Day weekend was....

    JERRY MCINTYRE'S FABULOUS BIRTHDAY BLOW-OUT

I think a grand time was had by all - starting things off at Hu-Hot (and Jer started drinking) and then headed to the Hessen Haus with a final stop at the Royal Mile. We actually did a brilliant thing and went up to the Red Monk and shared two $15 bottles of some Belgium brew. Magnificent.

No puking to speak of... but everyone had a little fun (and yours truly got to do some sweet Teen Wolf-esque surfing on top of Bob's grand cherokee!!!).

    Pics

Hessen Haus - look how thrilled Holly is with her brew!

    Josh is sitting too close!

Father Dave and Matt give Jer more reading material... which in turn makes his suave alter ego "Ricardo" emerge!

Back at home, Jer opens more gifts - Josh poses, Devin scratches, Bob emits gaseous air freshner.

    DIE YOU FIENDS!!! DIE!!!

"You did what on top of my moving vehicle?!?!"

Jer reads his Hi-larious card from the Brothers Findlay - Jody's destruction Pt. 1!

Jer, thrilled with his gift from the Brothers McFindlay - Jody falls deeper into drunken evil world.

Jody has turned - Angel has been attacked by evilJody... from here things went bad. Blood was shed, evil midgets pulled many to a ritual death... and Jerry's birthday passed.

    Long live the king!

    Adios Suckers!

Buttercup and I have had enough of Iowa so we are off to Sunny Cancun Mexico to drink till we can't feel feelings. The Kreitner's will be traveling with their good friends Mark and Andrea. The sheriff may have gone to law school with the previous two individuals, but he has tried to block that out of his memory. Oh, the booze and mary jane may have helped.

"Badges, we don't need no stinking badges!"

    bunny out till 9/8/05.

5 day forcast cloudy and rain......we seem to have that effect on the tropics!

    Unblogged

So, I haven't really participated in this blog in a long time and today because I'm off work I decided to go through some old posts. Good Stuff. I'm glad to see everyone is filthy as normal. I've got to give a Congrats to Jed for another email to the stars. It truly does amaze me how you find these people and get them to respond to you! Kern, I loved the names you came up with and only wish I could have used INSMNTRS, but I chose Lincoln Hawk after careful examination. I almost used at the last second taintripper, but thought better of it. Who are all these new people on the blog???

I don't have the Wesley from Buffy Season 3!

I will be out tomorrow - so... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY!!!!

Jer is turning a grand 27 tomorrow and we all need to wish him a happy one.

Granted, his viewership on the blog is minimal - and I doubt he would even read the comments if they were posted... but we must celebrate none the less.

Here is a great photo of Jer, he will love this.

At the moment we are planning to hit a nice restaurant downtown (Buzzard Billy's was mentioned), run over to the Mile for a few drinks, and round out the evening at home - guzzling drinks until we are gray.

If you get a moment, wish the man a Happy one... I still have not bought his gift and I am somewhat at a loss. He has about everything Buffy and Angel that I know of... perhaps some Buffy underoos!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD MAN!!!!!!

New Reviews At Listen! Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen!

I know it's been a pretty long time since there have been any reviews and at the gentle insistence of Mr. Deit, I got off my sweet can and did a review tonight, and I'll try to at least consistently finish the theme in a timely manner. So go check it out and leave comments so I feel like a winner.

I'm going to go to sleep now. Au Revoir!
