THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW

It took me a while to figure it out... but I've realized that I did find a show to supplant my LOST obsessions. THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW does not require the insane amount of interest that LOST did, but it can be just as fun!

My interest really began with my son Ben watching YO GABBA GABBA, an educational children's program that I find has consistently great messages, colorful imagery, and fantastic music. Ben loves to dance to the songs and sing along and I never mind joining in his fun.

YO GABBA GABBA was created by Scott Shultz and Christian Jacobs - Jacobs is the interest name there because of his other project - The Aquabats! I know of the Aquabats! from the 90's - they were a punk/ska band that would dress in colorful tights and wear Lone-Ranger type masks - fighting evil monsters while singing clever songs about it. The music was fun and I still listen to it today! Little did I know that the band was always step 1 of Jacob's desire to create the ultimate kids show.

The success of YO GABBA GABBA enabled Jacob's to get THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW up and running. It aired on the HUB network throughout the spring - 13 glorious episodes of great music, insane plots, hilarious characters and a look and feel that simply captured my imagination! Thankfully, my son found it fascinating too. In fact, Ben has to begin each and every day with two episodes of THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW. He knows all of the songs, every joke, and has even taken to the albums I own. He now commands Dad to sing "Shark Fighter" and "Mechanical Ape!" I love it.
