"Don't stop believing!"

The Sopranos came to an end Sunday evening. The screen went black... credits rolled... and it all finished.

Perfection. David Chase should be very proud.

If you watched, here is a fantastic article that covers the episode and has a brilliant reading on the end. Look for Kern to write something up on his site. As for me - I am just content in knowing that this series finished at the same quality that I respected it for... this show is pure art and I love it.

The final Sopranos gathering was a ball - Josh conquered in the trivia game winning a snub nose .38 to stuff into his socks - Cara came in 2nd and Jerry took third... Matt sadly did not place (poor Matty J!).

Another series heads to the TV heavens... what a brilliant show!

Since the Kreitner's don't have HBO I will get to see the last ep's from Netflix when they are released. Looking forward to the event.

Rescue Me Season 3 Disk 1 arrives today in Muscoland.

b.o.

ps: Watched Flags of our Fathers last night. Becomming less fond of non-linear film making.

Amen brother - Flags was a disaster in the editing room - Eastwood had a decent movie there... but lost it.

Have not seen Iwo Jima yet.

Thanks for the nod, Jed. I've been working on the piece for the last couple of days. For some reason, blogging is kind of like riding a bike for me. That is to say when I've been off it for a while there's a painful adjustment period while I remember how not to bust my grapes on the frame.

I may even be able to make it practically spoiler-free with some careful tweaking.

Are you F@&king kidding me. The ending sucked. That was the worse cop out I have ever seen. Bite me Chase!

P.S. I'm glad to hear everyone had a good time at the finale. I must have misplaced my invitation.

Perfect ending.

In the first episode this season didn't Bobby ask Tony how it all ended and Tony responded with "it all fades to black"?

I think The Sopranos has to be considered the best tv series of all time. I'm starting The Wire today which i've heard is actually better. We'll see...

Urnotme-As much as I enjoyed the Sopranos, the tone and style of The Wire have been a better fit for me personally. I think it's got the immense depth and breadth of The Sopranos, and captures the shades of grey element in a different and amazing way. The plotting is tight and the characters are amazing. One of my favorite shows of all time, and I have never once felt let down by one minute of it.

I need to watch the Wire too - but I do tend to fall for the more "heavy handed" noticeably artistic style that the Sopranos produced.

I am shocked to see Dan liked the ending - he tends to hate everything I like!

I wanted to add - The Sopranos pulled down 11 million viewers on Sunday getting second place in the overall ratings only to Dancing with the Stars which pulled 13 million viewers.

HBO - a station you have to pay for from some provider... got second place to the over the air free networks.

That - is - astounding!!!

Those are some big numbers for cable. Gotta love that.

Jed, did you happen to give John From Cincinatti a shot? I did, and thought there might be redeeming elements despite the bloody ramshackle setup.
