"Over the Flop!"

Hello all,

Sheriff, Buttercup and the puppy posse went to Michigan this weekend to visit Flop the Nuts and his family. Fun was had, some hold-em was played and the Dreamworks film"Over the Hedge" was enjoyed by all. The time always seems to go by too fast. Flop has quite an estate up there in God's country so if any of you Fino Blogers are ever in the area be sure to drop in.

Sheriff-Sounds like a good time!

Flop-If you're around, I just started playing online Hold'em this past weekend on PartyPoker.com. I was so inspired by my lessons in DM, that I thought I would give it a shot. I'm up 54 bucks so far. Too bad it's fake moolah...

How are the respective Kreitner/McCabe clans doing by the way?

"Oh, that's the Depelter Supreme. Prepare for lots of stinging!"

Yes, 'twas a great visit with Sheriff, BC, and the flower girls. Hee-hee, get it: flower girls = Tulip and Lily? (Or is it Lilly?) Mrs. Flop got to show the fruits (pun not intended) of her garden labor to someone besides (the usually under-impressed) me, and even got to serve samples of her work. Nuts Jr. - no, egh. Little nuts? *Groan* The turn? No. OK, OK, *ELLA* loved the pups, especially Lily. I got as much of a kick out of Ella's excited pronunciation of Lily as she did chasing Lily around! Sheriff and I had a great best-of-seven, heads-up Hold 'Em challenge. We took it all the way to 7 games, and took the 7th game into the 9th or 10th round of blinds. I came out victorious - but it was close! Even if I'd lost, the knowledge gained would've well made up for it.

EXCELLENT, Kern!! I've played very little in real money ($20) online, but have gone through thousands (maybe even 100s of thousands?) in play money! I don't like to play for real $ online because you don't have the aspect of being in physical presence of your opponents. By no means am I good at "reading" people, but at least "in person" I have a better shot at it as compared to online. And, at least with play $ you can learn without losing your car, clothing, and anal virginity. (Hey, what you do all depends how desperate you are! :) ) It's a bit harder to improve your game playing with play $, but it's still experience.

The McCabe clan is doing pretty well. I've lost track of how many consecutive weeks it's been now that Ella hasn't been sick! *KNOCK ON WOOD*. Other than Trish having to put in a few extra hours the last couple of weeks, we're doing OK!

Howazbout out west, Kern?

Back to work, ugh.

I had two minutes to contribute something worthwhile... and I came up with that.

I like it, I like it.

Flop: Things are ok here. Work is busy. I'm whoring myself out on match.com again, which is essentially doing me as much good as it has over the intermittent four or five years I used it, which is to say not at all.

Other than that, I have been working on some stuff regarding my fiction writing and I'm excited about that. Other than that, I have been roasting in the terrible heat wave here without air conditioning. As you probably know, the Pac NW is supposed to have mild, beautiful summers eliminating the need for air conditioning in homes. Yeah, screw that. When it does get hot we're fucked.

So Flop, where do you play online poker? I'd love to play you sometime.

Oh my GAWD! HILARIOUS pic, J! I love how I have the party hat on. And I don't know if I'm happier to have been made a main character or to NOT have been made Hammy. :)

Kern, good luck w/ match.com. Ever try (or even interested in trying) other sites? The only seemingly-halfway-legit one that comes to mind is eHarmony.com. Just curious... Hope the heat *ACHOO*global*warming*ACHOO* subsides! I will do my damn-nest to never again live somewhere without central air!! NEVER, I SAY!

I play at PokerRoom (www.pokerroom.com, shockingly enough :) ). Handle = skiznippy. NOTE: from this point to the end of this post, when I refer to money, it's play money. 98% of the time I play the $1000 "Sit & Go" no-limit Hold 'Em tournaments. I go for a $3000 one if I've built up enough play-dough (ugh, I know, I know: not punny), and play $500 and $100 ones if I fall below $1000 in my account. If you do sign up, let me know what your handle is and we'll meet up sometime!
