Teaser Poster For Kern Returns '06

A while ago, Fino mentioned that I should get cracking on the new Kern Returns flyer so that we'd have something to look forward to. Well, I don't have any specific dates, but I am hoping to come back this summer, if a certain fantastic guy I know will let me crash on his couch again in exchange for free beer and spooning.

In any case, this isn't really the flyer I was expecting to use but I think it's a fun teaser. If everyone digs it enough it may become the official Kern Returns '06 flyer, though. In any case, look VERY closely, as the man behind the makeup is indeed none other than your pal Kern.

I welcome all comments.

Thanks, Sheriff! I'm thinking the final is either going to be this one or A Clockwork Orange one where I, Alex, will be featured in place of...Alex. I think that might be cool.

Yeah, I agree totally. I'm kind of wiped out and it's only Tuesday.

But...there is energy to burn when the Kern Returns!

I am having a creepy reaction to your image Kern... I think it might be the tuft of hair on top of the Simmonsesque head.

Ugh.

Kern: Welcome to the suck!

I'm guessing that's a thumbs down then?

Back to the drawing board...I hope the Clockwork Orange one is less vomit inducing. But I can't promise anything.

No no... the Welcome to the suck thing is from Jarhead... just a recommendation for the next poster.

I love the Kern Returns font... cute and semi nauseating. That is what I look for in a Friday night date!

Ah, I thought it was a Jarhead ref, but a double entendre.

You'll have to excuse my oversensitivity. I'm a tad annoyed with my Tiny Mix Tapes gig. I've gotten more completed reviews in than anyone else, so you might think that one of these reviews might be used as soon as the two week break was over. But no. Yet, a guy who started at the same time I did, has another one up today.

I'm a little bitter because it would seem understandable if the aversion to using my pieces was based on pairing reviews thematically, but this isn't so. Which makes me think that the editor finds my work to be of inferior quality and will basically just run it when everyone good hasn't turned in a review in a while and he's forced to fill the space. I'm not fucking happy about this one bit.

Of course, saying that now, I will probably get a review up next week, but it's still disconcerting. I didn't quit writing reviews on my blog just to write for people who are going to sit on the work forever.

Fino-Snickered at the date comment. My blog today has a picture of me with a Shameless Whore label.

Also something to look for in a Friday night date.
