The Ultimate Fall

Johnson's "Airing of Grievences" celebration came off without a hitch. Drunken foosball, loads of beer, and a few little bottles of Jegermeister - made his Festivus a complete success.

One highlight was the viewing of the wrestling documentary about The Ultimate Warrior. In my younger days, I was an avid viewer of Saturday morning's WWF wrestling! I loved watching Hulk Hogan give a smack down to the Iron Shiek... and how Hacksaw Jim Duggin's eyes would blip in and out of control... but I also loved watching the Ultimage Warrior come rushing in and wailing on the ropes!

Sadly, it turns out Warrior was one of the biggest tools in the bunch. He would skip venues, refuse to go out until he was paid money in hand, and he was basically the most hated wrestler in the business.

But those streamers he tied to his arms... priceless.

Narnia was a good ride. It is tough; I love the LOTR films sooo much, it is difficult to walk into a similar film and not compare it. Watching the large battle of Narnia made me appreciate Helm's Deep and the last 1/3 or ROTK all the more!

With that in mind, I am going nuts waiting to see KING KONG!!!! The group is planning a Wednesday night last show. Word of mouth is that this flick is unbelievable! Peter Jackson has definitely made quite the name for himself - people are talking like he has replaced Spielberg as the ultimate popcorn movie director.

Cool.

Yo

ohh am I jealous of you.

Damfino said...

I still feel bad for Jason - he got a rough ride from Lor and Richard... I mean, they took everything from him!!!

But watching Luke come around to Lor... that is great stuff. And the Jess stuff is really good too!

Looking forward to the discs tomorrow... the Palladino's do commentary on an episode... oooooh.

Hello all. Kern is in the building...

Damfino said...

I thought I felt the thud of your mini Kern.

New AD tonight... I guess they are shooting 5 more - with Justine Bateman... and Brian Grazer seems confident that the show will be picked up on another station.

HBO?

Kern said...

Well, if it's not TV, it's HBO I guess...

Thud of the mini-Kern. Heh...that's right, you have no idea the strain that puts on my back. It's like carrying a Great Dane in a ziploc bag all day long.

Kern said...

So, also there wasn't any mention of yr tryst with Scarlett. Did that end badly?

Damfino said...

I got drunk and fell asleep on the couch... she got pissed and left.

Poor Scarlett...

I am not sure about your Great Dane in ziploc ref... the image is not sexy at all... more high school science sickening.

Kern said...

Alright, how bout this...instead of Mini-Kern, how Kern Kong?

Damfino said...

and lo the beast...

KERN KONG!!!!

filth

Kern said...

Ha ha ha. We're putting the filth back in Damfinoblog.

Speaking of filth and debauchery, did I tell you I am currently designing the new flyer for Kern Returns 2006?

Kern said...

I'll give you a hint: Sex, Droogs, and Rock and Roll.

Ha ha.

Damfino said...

Kerncicle?!?! I just vomited a little.

AHHH - to think of the days of the Kern return... warmer... happier... post that poster soon. We need a goal to look to.

Deit - Did you catch Narnia? Were you a Lewis reader?

Damfino said...

Kernstick.

Kerntip.

The Kernel!

Damfino said...

Hold on! The LOTR was reduced to a series of action scenes?!?

I felt the movie did lack something... felt kind of cold.. we did not fall in love the kids like I did in the books.

I need to re-read them as well.

Oh - Aslan's death scene is really really tough to watch. It is long and scary!

Those are some interesting names for my member. I wonder if this is going to be like Sheriff's Tagline contest from last summer.

I don't know about you guys but I thought that July was a little too warm. I was thinking about June this year, perhaps? I'll float it by everyone after the new year so we can see what everyone thinks. But I am personally hoping mid-to-late June this year.

The poster is taking a little while, because this time I may actually be in costume for the picture.

Kern with special guest "Flesh IUD"

Look out Kern is packing a "G-pounder" in his slacks.

Kern honey, your leaning tower of pleasure is diggin into my hip.

The sheriff just spitballing some ideas.

Damfino said...

I just got Kerned!

You are going to be dressed for a photo for the image!?!??!

I just Kerned myself!!!!

Damfino said...

Wait - but you don't think LOTR should have toned down the battle stuff do you? I thought the series did a helluva job of creating a ton of characters and making them interesting in the time they had.

I thought Jackson balanced action - fantasy - drama - and moments of magic... very well.

Kern said...

Well, I should elaborate. It's going to be a makeshift costume, and the photograph may be artistically altered by my trusty Photoshop skills. But it should come close enough to achieve the desired effect in the poster. If it works it's going to be a fucking masterpiece. If not, I'll go with my backup poster idea, which is still not bad.

The hint for the backup: Two words: Andy Warhol.

Whenever the Sheriff speaks... a hidden part of me comes alive with laughter. Maybe it is because I know his voice and laugh... but damn... he kills me!!!

FlopTheNuts said...

How about "Kernel"?

"Kern's Kernel"?

Mabye I'm not that creative, but I'm surprised that hasn't been posted yet!

"She wants some lsvjex from Kernel."

FlopTheNuts said...

Oh, Christ!! I missed Damfino's "Kernel" post earlier. That's what I get for scanning/skimming...

Boy, do I feel like a cspyocs!

Damfino said...

When the crap are people gonna start getting that movies are completely different than books.

In looking at The Sweet Hereafter... I think I ended up liking the movie better than the book. I actually got more insight on characters by seeing the sadness in the eyes... viewing the emptiness of the landscape... the cold seeped in far more in the film.

Now, I know there are a ton of stories... characters.. .elements that are left out of stuff like Potter... but come on!!! Now one is willing to sit through 20 hours of film to capture everything.

I find it amazing that sometimes little things in those books become huge in the films... The bus ride in the 3rd potter... I guess I am thinking of "action scenes."

I dunno... I am tired of hearing how superior books are to films.

Damfino said...

Flog thyself nut!

FlopTheNuts said...

I would flog myself, but I already did this morning. Thrice. So I'm a little spent...

Hey, how about Kerne-... Oh, nevermind!

Damfino said...

Thrice? My my. Pent up agression?

Kiss my Kern.

Every good woman needs a Kern.

Hmmmmm - Kern

FlopTheNuts said...

Never heard it (uh, how shall I put this: reproductive fluid) called "aggression" before, but, hey, to each his/her own!

Ewwwwwww...

Get back to the jbhzzy, my Nizzy!

Kern said...

Flop's code word sounded like the aforementioned reproductive fluid.

It is kind of funny people using Kern in places of random nouns and verbs. It's kind of like what the Smurfs used to do.

Like when Papa Smurf would tell Smurfette. "Hey get over here. I'm going to pull out my smurf and you're going to give me a sloppiest smurf job that's ever been smurfed. Then I'm going to bust a smurf all over your face."

Eh, wow that was disturbing. Forget I said that.

Damfino said...

I am gonna Kern you and you aint gonna sh*t right for a month!!!

Damfino said...

I say that each stands completely on its own. You read/view each - and react to them individually.

Comparing a book to a film is annoying fodder for bored housewifes and republicans.

Damfino said...

Deit is talking to you Kern.

Sheriff Officer Greg the Bunny said...

Kern,

I nearly smurfed my smurfing lunch all over my keyboard.

Well done.

b.o.

Damfino said...

You talk too much Deit. You could have simply said "Jed is right and I am wrong," and all would have been fine.

Damfino said...

I guess I am tired of hearing about the book when I am talking about the movie. Plain and simple.

The new Potter, compared with the previous films, was really good. Period.

Narnia was disappointing compared to LOTR - the movies.

Period.

Deit should no longer be allowed to Kern.

Period.

Kern said...

I think that would be an interesting comparison. One is about saving Jews and the other is about saving yourself. For the right woman.

Compare and contrast.
