"I GOT CHILDREN ALL OVER TOOWWWWNNN!!!"

I spent all day yesterday watching the Bears/Packers game (pathetic at that) and did not see a single ad for Arrested Development - yet came in today and read that a new episode will air tonight. Huh.

I guess we might as well enjoy the last gasp of the series... perhaps 15 million will show up and Fox will see the error of its ways...

or perhaps not.

Also, there is a site up to try to save the show. We all signed up before... lets try again.

getarrested.com

Christmas tree is up - Fireplace is roaring - Egg nog and cookies were devoured - and it is freezing outside. I am staying in for the rest of the year, anyone who wishes to join me - come on over!

Yo

Wow, it sounds cold there.

I am looking forward to the last little bit of Arrested Development that we get. I just want to enjoy this shit while we still have a chance.

It is my hope that both of you signed the petition... TASTE MY TEARS OF JOY!!!!

I think the temp just reached 1 degree.

yay

I signed that thing eons ago. When I first heard it was being pulled off of sweeps. It still annoys me that there is so much drivel still running around while a show with some real brains gets shunted off to the side.

On a tangential note, I read where David Cross really owned Larry The Cable Guy for some remarks he made in his new book.

I was impressed that someone was able to translate the Crayola scribblings of Larry The Cable Guy well enough to bring this beautiful life changing tome to the awaiting masses.

I am feeling a Heat wave, a tropical heat wave...

Think of the ratings if Larry the cable guy had made an appearance on AD!!

Er wait... Scott Baio did not make any impact.

I think this AD debacle is fueling a major depression in me. Veronica Mars is really not that good this year... Gilmore is slipping big time... the Office can't hold my attention... Nip/Tuck is a joke....

Did you hear that Amy and Daniel Palladino are done with Gilmore after this year... doing another show! Gilmore is contracted for one more... without the show runners.

WE ARE DOOMED!

Yeah. Why does Nip/Tuck suck so horribly this year? It's completely disjointed and trying to be way too many things at once, which makes it mediocre overall.

Boo...

At least the Shield is coming back. That is one of the few shows that is consistently good every season and doesn't make me wish it was reverting to its glory days. It's rare these days that a show doesn't disappoint me during its entire run.

I feel the same way about The Wire.

Say Jed, what books are you reading right now?

I am gonna move on to Rule of the Bone or Affliction... picking up Gilead for book club... and Potter 4 is sitting there as well.

Still have some Ford to read.

Kern said...

Read Rule of The Bone next. I think Affliction and Sweet Hereafter have too much of the same vibe, it would most likely feel like overload.

Rule of the Bone is outstanding, irreverant, and funny. It's like a post modern Catcher In The Rye. Go for it.

What Ford have you left to read?

The Sportswriter/Independence Day 1-2 punch!

Bone it is!

Kern said...

Sweet. You will likely not be disappointed. I love that book. Plus at one time P.T. Anderson was writing a script for it, but it fell apart.

I've read The Sportswriter, and it's got some good moments, but I don't think it's neccesarily as good as his short works. On the other hand, I have heard that Independence Day is insanely good, so I still have to read that one.

Chris Noonan, director of Babe, is in pre-production on Rule of the Bone... no stars yet!

Interesting. I am curious as to who they're going to pick to be Chappie aka Bone. The casting of I-Man should also be interesting.

I'm currently in between books. I've been so busy with writing lately I haven't really gotten anything read as of late. I keep restarting Martin Amis' London Fields, but then I get distracted and have to start the whole thing agin...I think I will most likely be doing some reading at Christmas; hopefully I'll get this Annette Inisdorf book about the films of Krystof Kieslowski I have been dying to read. That would be cool.
