All that hard work...

Just a note of happiness from the world of Krysta Jo...

I have earned myself an A for the Statistics 401 course I have taken for the past 8 weeks. I just got my grade today and since I am a stellar student, I do not have to take the final quiz tomorrow afternoon. That means I am free and clear!

When you add that I am having a really good hair day and I got a new cell phone yesterday to this happy news, it appears as though I am having a stupendous week already.

Thanks for the continued support through the summer. The constant filth spewed from this blog helped ease the pain of summer school and boosted my confidence for all things academic. Now...back to the thesis writing...

KJ - I added an image to help draw attention to your post. I am not sure what a really good hair day would be. Glad the filth (which you are a major part of) has helped your through this tough time.

I am so not a part of the filth on the blog. I abhor filth (or something like that) but it does make me laugh.

Thanks for the geeky pic.

I always hated the Speak& Math... if I got the Speak & Math that mean somebody already got the Speak&Spell - which I enjoyed far more.

Making the device say cool words like "chicken" or "poppycock."

Move over quasi-celebs of the week, Krysta Jo is having the BEST WEEK EVER!

In all seriousness, congratulations on the stellar math grade as well as the other fantastic goings on. It couldn't happen to a nicer gal.

Jed: Speak and Spell was indeed the shit.

krysta jo said...

We were so poor we didn't have a Speak and Spell. We just had to do farm chores all day long and then when it was night, my mom made us homemade worksheets to help us learn new and fun things. I am jealous that you got to enjoy both Speak and Spell and Speak and Math. And...let's not forget that I had to go to country school and to get there, I had to walk uphill in 3 feet of snow and usually barefoot. Then at the end of the day, it was back uphill to the house where I had the chickens and cows waiting to be fed.

Oh my life......

Wait a minute...why is there drool on my desk?

Kern said...

Funny Speak and Spell anecdote: I think mine got confiscated for a good long time when my grandmother heard me using it to say words that euphemistically referred to male and female genitalia. It would not have been so bad, but the words were relatively filthy and I was only 7 or 8. Wonder where I learned those words? I bet Jed can guess...

THIS IS FOR KILLING
THIS IS FOR FUN

krysta jo said...

oh my

Damfino said...

Poor KJ - all those difficult years... never able to have the enjoyment of making a small device say the word "mulva."

The only real joy came on artificial ensemination day... and even that got old!

Damfino said...

crap... me stupid

THIS IS FOR FIGHTING
THIS IS FOR FUN!

urnotme said...

WTF!?

Congrats on the "A" KJ!

I made a rhyme.

urnotme said...

Hey, I have a guilty pleasure and am wondering if any of you share it, too.

Kern said...

I've often thought about going on Ebay and trying to get a Speak and Spell. I worked with a woman at my law firm a few years back who had a husband who did conceptual art, and I think he used the circuit board from a Speak and Spell to do something in one of his pieces. I wish I had seen some of his stuff.

urnotme said...

I've been watching Rock Star: INXS.

Damfino said...

What - artificial ensemination... sans artificial?

Damfino said...

You wanna be a rock star?

urnotme said...

And except for the way they present the music and the build up towards the song choice and actual performances I really enjoy it. I am a Cover Whore, but really some of these people have great presence and very good voices.

You all should check it out.

urnotme said...

Jed, I am a rock star.

Damfino said...

This coming from the guy who refuses to watch Gilmore Girls.

I caught a little one night... looked a tad MTVish.

Kern said...

What time was it on? If it's on during the Girls, I don't think I'll be able to watch.

I have a feeling I won't be watching much TV at night for a while anyhow. I'm trying to be dilligent about working on this new short story. I only got two or three pages done last night, but that's better than none I think.

Damfino said...

Well - you do do a ton of blow... and like to grab yerself and make odd noises...

but then there is that whole "spend your entire Sunday at Lowes" thing.

urnotme said...

Um yeah. Well you have to catch the show on a specific day. Tuesdays are the performances and Mons and Weds are a crock. Weds they have the bottom 3 perform an INXS song and the band chooses who stays. I have yet to see a wed performance because I work late that night, but will catch it tonight.

About gilmore- Yesterday I pulled up the blog and thought wtf is this crap? You sounded a tad femme I must say. Like it's a soap and you're some housewife eating bon-bons or what not. Very gary.

Kern said...

I see rock stars there all the time. They seem to like the landscaping section. I don't know why.

urnotme said...

Entire sunday at Lowes? Seriously. It's called ambition. I have (i mean holly) the ambition to improve my house man. Instead of watching movies and tv all day I figure it's best to improve upon my investment. Plus, it creates a better standard of living for my boys(colby and lil' bear). JK. You're just jealous. It's not my fault you can't score blow.

urnotme said...

Besides me, most rock stars prefer the tubing section with a little bit of calk.

krysta jo said...

Oh my....you people have gotten way out of hand again.

I saw INXS one night - it's not bad. Though my guilty pleasure has been "So you Think you can Dance?" because they are doing the auditions and they are hilarious.

My dad loves Lowe's on Sundays too.

urnotme said...

I don't think i've ever heard of that show. What channel is it on?

Which section does he prefer calk or tubing? Wait is he not a rock star?

Damfino said...

Stevens loooooooves the calk!

Sheriff Officer Greg the Bunny said...

Kudos fino for the Stewie quote earlier in this post.....

"Yessssss.....Snake!"

Damfino said...

ah-thank you!

Damfino said...

Isn't anyone gonna yell at urnotme for knocking Gilmore?

You're right - I feel bad enough for him as it is... life as a mongaloid is hard enough without me yelling at him for being uneducated.

Kern said...

When did he knock Gilmores this thread? I've been intermittently doing data entry so my attention is a little scattered.

urnotme said...

Face it fuckface your post was gary.

Kern said...

Gary? Who's Gary? Gary Coleman? Gary, Indiana?

Damfino said...

"Looks like you're suffering from a case of f#ckface-itis!"

OHHH!

urnotme said...

subtract the "r"

Kern said...

I'm still confused about Gary. But off the topic for a second.

I might get to see Iron and Wine and Calexico in October! Yes!

Kern said...

Oh, got it, Urnotme.

krysta jo said...

fuckface is such a tremendous word - I am happy to know that I am not the only one who thoroughly enjoys using it.

My dad likes all the sections of Lowe's, but he especially likes the kitchens and bathrooms because that is what he is working on in my parent's new house.

So you think you can dance is on Fox 17.

Damfino said...

"Gary" is Stevens' clever little way of saying gay. Though, it is interesting that only homosexual commenter on the site dislikes Gilmore and does not watch.

Damfino said...

Isn't "So you think you can dance" a quick rip off of that ABC dance show?

krysta jo said...

It might be...or maybe it is on ABC. I don't pay attention to channels but I thought it was on FOX. Who knows????

Damfino said...

That one is on Fox... but the #1 show in the nation... Dance with stars or something... is on ABC or CBS.

BABABOOIE BABABOOIE!

urnotme said...

Fuckface was actually something I stole from a previous Anon lurker. When she uses it it sounds much better.

Jed don't start with me bitch.

Kern said...

I watched some clips of the audition process, but have not watched since.

Damfino said...

You are such an angry tool Stevens... whaddup with that?

urnotme said...

Don't call me a tool little girl.

I'm about out for lunch with the wife here in a few ladies.

I still haven't completed anything that I wanted to. Still need to clean and find Cowboy gear.

Jed r u home tonight? Maybe we can go hit up all the consignment shops?

krysta jo said...

Jed - don't forget - I found you some boots - they are riding around in the plastic Saturn waiting for you.

Kern said...

Jed, you should go to Chud.com today. I guarantee that their review of the Dukes of Hazzard was the funniest thing I've read all week. Well, besides the thread yesterday.

Kern said...

You know, speaking of guilty shows, I think the faster they bring back Beauty and the Geek, the better.

Damfino said...

Dan- picking up the Mach tonight to show tomorrow night. Probably won't be able to run around... but call.

KJ - bring the boots on by if you can... trying on would be good.

Kern - reviews... oohh boy.

urnotme said...

weak

Damfino said...

Think I got Steve bringing me a belt buckle!

Damfino said...

Not weak - might get the Mach sold... twould be good.

krysta jo said...

Agggh that means I have to be at your office by 4:30 - are you leaving then today or staying til 5?

Kern said...

Selling the Mach?

Damfino said...

Don't you eat KJ?

krysta jo said...

i had breakfast - why do you ask?

Damfino said...

Mach is being sold - too costly... and I am kind worn out on it.

Damfino said...

Never mind... where is your office - maybe I can stop by.

krysta jo said...

the boots are in the car. i can come by at 4:15 if you want today.

Damfino said...

Yar - I leave at 4:30... heading out to jerry's folks for dinner and Mach pick up.
