I am going to join a club and beat you with it.

I know I mentioned the Marx Brothers last week, but I would like to reiterate that if you have never seen one of their films, they are manic fun! At least watch Duck Soup and see what made these guys famous.

Anyway, I will be posing as Groucho Marx for Halloween - this weekend I went shopping to find a suit with tails to go with my moustache and giant cigar (ahem). I found the most perfect non tail suit (no tails in all of Des Moines... well, in all consignment of Des Moines) and spent an astounding $2.50 on the jacket and pants... look forward to pics next monday!

This might be a good opportunity for everyone to reveal what they are planning to wear for Halloween.

The Bags closed out their season yesterday with another loss - a difficult one in fact. We were man handled by yet another team, with only one touchdown to ease our suffering. We end the season at a dysmal 1-6. Never-the-less, we all agreed that it was a ball to play... and look forward to next season and changing things up a bit!

Yours truly had an awfully average game - a few good tackles... some missed. One bad moment of miscommunication that led to an opponent touchdown... and worst of all... once again - open down field - Jed drops the long bomb for a TD! Thankfully, this time there was a defensive man nearly intercepting to cover my @ss.

Now comes the long awaited, drink until the bones stop hurting, recovery period.

Yo

Well sounds like a fun and interesting weekend. I still want a t-shirt. Costume....I am going to be an old school oompa loompa. Orange face and green hair. Quite excited but still have some work to do to get the perfect outfit.

Spread the good word Dr. - and make sure you learn those dance numbers with Miss oopaloompa. Not sure how well you will fair as a midget... but you are an open kind of guy.

Drea - did some massive DAV shopping this weekend - found some wicked blazers and a couple of nice shirts... all of which I did not buy. Come back soon - I need assistance.

Damfino said...

Wait a minute... wouldn't Drea make a killer Johnny Johnny (the fez is all her!)?

Fino already has a large pink leathery sack....at least that is what I heard from reliable sources...he doesn't need another one.

"Boy, Chuck the Sheriff has his good stuff on the mound today!"

"Yes he does Bill, he is really throwing the gas up there!"

GO SOX 2 WINS TO GLORY!!!

I am appauled that you did not buy them. Come on...what else do I have to do for you. I even made you ask out a girl (granted she was married but I forced you to get the balls up to do it) There is nothing cheaper than DAV clothes. Cheap *&@^#*&. I do not want to be something for Halloween that no one knows. I was Audrey Hepburn one year and only 1 person knew who I was...It was the bouncer.

Damfino said...

Oh Drea... I stopped by the shop where I asked the girl out.. it was closed... but the woman caught me looking in and opened up for me... I freaked and almost ran...

but it was her sister... and I hope she did not remember me.

all was good until i too my pants off.

I see the Sheriff is on the Baseball bandwagon... well done. You and Drea don't count as reliable sources.

Hmmmmmmm...
That would have been an awesome costume at my party. I will have pictures and make a post to rub in how much fun it was. Just a hint: Wyatt went as John Wayne Gasey complete with red balloon and a tied up Cabbage Patch doll. Funny stuff. Ended the night with expirimental shots (bad idea), and the one non-drunk person leading all drunk people into the biggest practicle joke I have ever been a part of.

Damfino said...

OMIGOD - JWG... Wyatt went as a mass murderer?!?!?

Buttercup said...

Was the sister single??? did you ask her out? Get some balls man. Wow this is so much fun. I love Wyatt's costume that is a good one. I thought Hitler would be good too but not real PC. That was when dicktater came into play too. Gregory be the ---- and me a tater. he he he

Now you have me intrigued with the practical joke. Do share

I can't wait to see the pictures.

There's a funny post about children's programming at my blog this morning. Do stop by, won't you?

I'm not going as anything for Halloween. I am going to most likely keel over half in the bag while watching some Mario Bava horror films such as Twitch of The Death Nerve, and Black Sunday. I am excited.

Damfino said...

Umm - Kreitners? I am not sure it is fair for you to flirt on the blog.

Go home and come back cleansed.

Buttercup said...

Flirt come on have you meet Sherriff that is tame. Come on now. Our flirting usually has a couple of grabs and generally I am not the one doing it. HONK

Kern said...

Oh my...

Damfino said...

Monday morning and everyone is grabby...

Kern said...

I can only imagine what Fino is grabbing.

By the way, Jed, I am curious, whatever happened with the house? I thought you guys were all moving or something.

Damfino said...

Jerry moved out - Devin (friend from High School) moved in. Life is very good in the house... we all clean... we put up Halloween decorations last night... we all covet the evil midgets equally...

um.

Things are wonderful.

Kern said...

Ah very good. How is Jer?

Damfino said...

Ok - same ol for him.. but he is smoking again.

If only he took the time to read the blog... then he would know he was loved... and would not be a tool.

Kern said...

Yes, if only more people took the time to read the blog.

Have you talked to Johnson lately?
I called him three weeks ago and we talked for five minutes and he said to try him back three weeks later because he was really busy. I'll probably do that sometime this week.

Kern said...

Well, I will be in and out all day folks. Big non-library project continues.

Speculate away on what it is, you filthy bastards.

OK. Here was the practical joke. There were about 25 people still left in the house and most of them were drunk and it was about 2 AM. I used streamers to decorate one part of the house. My other friend Jenny (I have six friends named Jennifer)rounded everyone up and told us that crate paper is made from starch, and that it disolves like sugar in your mouth and that it tastes really good. BUT it only really works if you tear off a larger piece (like 3"), and she proceeded to demonstrate. So we all thought we saw her tear off a rather large piece and shove it in her mouth and she smiled wide to show us it was good. We still sort of looked at her strangly, so she pulled down some crate paper and passed it out to everyone. She said that we should all try it together. Which we did -- much to our regret. Crate paper does not taste sweet, but then I was drunk enough to not actually be able to taste it. I just will never forget the look as 25 people put a 3" section of crate paper into their mouth and imediately grimmaced. Jenny meanwhile is literally colapsed on the floor laughing. It was great.

Damfino said...

25 people ate crate paper... hmm... how irregular.

Deit Heimley said...

Oh, but what made it a great practical joke was that we all did it together. This is a joke you would have trouble getting kids to fall for, but a group of drunk people will fall for anything.

Kern said...

Yummy!

Damfino said...

Is that the first thing you say coming back from the Library!?!? Interesting.

Deit Heimley said...

Perhaps they had a buffet in there?

Kern, did you eat the oysters or the sausages?

Damfino said...

He is on a diet.

Deit Heimley said...

Oh, that's right!! I forgot. Kern hasn't eaten either is quite a long time.

Kern said...

I prefer the fish course...

Kern said...

For the record, I said I was NOT in the library.

On another big project, which I need to get back to. Perhaps I'll be back.

Deit Heimley said...

Tells us when you are back fish-boy. We wish to ridicule you from afar some more.

By the way, have I mentioned "Everything is Illuminated" yet? Please go see it. Though not a Jew from Central Asia (or Eastern Europe I can't remember which Ukraine belongs to), I was deeply touched by this movie and related to the conflict. Between Halloween Party preperations and the AIDS Benefit I stopped in to see it again with some more friends. Went to Fluer and yet again we were the only ones in the theater -- not a good sign.

Kern said...

I'm back. Ridicule away. I just got back from lunch with my father. Country Fried Kobe steak with carmelized onion mashed potatoes. Damn, it was fine.

I'll most likely fall asleep at my desk now.

Deit Heimley said...

I just posted about my party. Take a look.

Kern said...

Excellent. Will do.
