Guilty Pleasure Films

I was just thinking as I was barcoding the library, about movies that I watch almost everytime they show up on TV, but I wouldn't neccesarily want to tell anyone about. I wonder if anyone else here at the Damfinoblog does...

Well, I am coming clean, my friends. Though I have many, one at the top of the list is The Principal with James Belushi. Why?

I'm not sure. But, even though he tries to put the "pal" in Principal, the students aren't having it. He drinks instant breakfast mixed with beer, and his right hand man is Louis Gossett, Jr. Yes!

Jim's pretty badass, he rides a motorcycle through the school, and even at the end, there isn't a big fuzzy ending when he survives the wrath of a drug dealer and several other thuggish types trying to kill him. The kids still don't respect him!

Suck on that, Lean On Me!

Sounds awesome. I have only seen Hedwig once, but I was astounded. Great film. There is a gay bar here called Re-Bar that used to have Hedwig re-enactments on Friday nights. I heard it was actually pretty cool.

Never seen the Flash Gordon from the Eighties, but it sounds great. Now that you mentioned it, I remember Queen doing the soundtrack. And any movie that has a question after "The End" has to have a certain modicum of terrible brilliance.

So far that's two movies from the eighties. I think I notice a trend developing...

I know another 80's movie I always, always watch despite the fact it's absolute poop on a stick.

Terry Hyser in "Just One of the Guys". It's the one where that girl wants to be a journalist, and she thinks that she'd get her work accepted at another school as a boy, so she goes butch. But she quickly gets caught in a web of deceit and intrigue as she tries to live as both a man and a woman, trying to help develop ugly duckling Rick into a cool guy, and falling for him in the process.

So bad...but yet, so, so good...

I've never seen that, but generally Renny Harlin films are good for some bad. I never had the cojones to give Cutthroat Island a shot...

Queen: Holy crap, that was funny. The funniest thing I've read all day to be sure. Ha ha. Padlock!

Cool As Ice. Never seen it, but it sounds like a very valid choice.

Deit: Don't know that I can get to it this weekend, but I'll Netflix it for next weekend.
