Helloooooo folks,
Ah - how nice it is to return to a desk from a weeks long vacation and find you have zero messages on your phone... it is a very nice way to ease back into things.
Camp was zwonderful! Tanning - swimming - no fish caught... no skiing either. But we had a ball. Two books read; "a Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" by David Webb... and Richard Ford's "Multitude of Sins." Both were superior reads... trying to get through "On the Road."
Pics!!
This is the beautiful lake, Big Island Lake!
This is the dock - late at night after a sauna.
This is the cabin - lovely view of the lake.
This is a bar we went to called Rendezvous... loads of amazing kareoke!
Wait - here is a better view of the lake itself... ain't it pretty!!
And finally - here is the entrance to Frye Camp. There is some odd flare going on with the image... not sure what.
Sad to leave... but thrilled to be back and looking forward to some upcoming fun.
Pce!
Yo
(please note that the images were chosen at random and are a small part of the collection from the week)

Marcell MN... actually, just east of the town. It is about 30 miles north of Grand Rapids!
Ahh - you are the rower... er.. rowing person.
Sleep well - then we can swap stories of the evil that is mosquitos (but more evil is the horse fly... ooooh... how I hate the horsefly!!!)
Hello all. Good to see you had a good time Mr. Damfino.
Speaking of good times, I'm going to e-mail you my itenerary for Friday and forward a copy to Johnson.
5 days and counting...
I mentioned to the guys that we should pick up the scattered pubes throughout the bathroom and house... for the grand arrival.
It got voted down so we could watch Stella episodes again (a show that is surprisingly good!!).
Sorry dude
That's cool. When Clarence Thomas came over for that slumber party that one time, I got rather desensitized to pubic hair being all over.
Stella is a funny show. It's times like that when I watch it and Reno 911 back to back that I wish the whole gang from The State was back together though. They used to rule my young world.
... even now... as i die... i understand... what it truly.. means... to..... live......
"But I love you."
"Shh. Shut up! SHUT UP!"
"I will drive this truck off the cliff if you do not stop talking!"
"You smell like chicken nuggets!"
Oh and by the way, good call reading A Multitude of Sins. I think it's one of Ford's better works. I love him best when he's on the short fiction tip. Rock Springs still continues to kill me every year.
He actually fell into convention with two of the stories... the tale of the couple parked on the road - she tells him she cheats - then runs him over.
The other is the final tale - abyss. It is a fantastic read... but having her fall into the canyon is at once frightening real... and also too easy.
Really loved it though!!!
Welcome back Mr. Fino,
Sounds like fun was had in the great outdoors. I think the blog needs more head shots of you....
Here's hoping you get more head...........shots
bunny out
Thanks Sherrif... heres to more head!
I actually have a ton of nice images that I should have put up... but my narcisitic side over took me... and I thought a nice face stamp was needed on the site.
Did you happen to catch Stewie leaving Jeff in the car for two weeks?
"Yup -he's dead. Definitely dead."
OH lord....
Good morning boys --- and queenb.
Hi KJ!
Jed - I so never get tired of looking at self-photos of yourself. How fun.
Hey Alex....
Good weekend all around???
Myself, never gets tired of looking at my self in myself images.
Weekend was wicked also - jet skiing at Saylorville.
Last night, around 11 or so, I shaved my man fuzz off my face. I really wish the beard would have made it.. and I almost kept it for today at work... but I wimped.
It is hard to shave while crying.
Speaking of lack of beards, I think yr going to be shocked when you see me at the airport. You might have a bit of trouble recognizing me as a matter of fact.
Prepare to be dazzled, my friend.
KJ-The weekend was ok. Didn't do much. But I did see one of my good friends here that I don't get to talk to too often. Had dinner replete with Cajunized Tater Tots. And beer. Sweet, delicious beer.
Damfino: Wasn't the author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by David Eggers, not David Webb? Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno. Still early here...
David Webb in the character in the Bourne series... Eggers is correct.
You read this stuff too carefully.
No kidding. It's still early here - after all - it's still before noon.
Jed - your cube was so sad last week each time I wandered by.
What? My cube is never sad... it is always excitedly disorganized.
I think you were displacing your sadness of my absence onto my cube.
You gotta come by while I still have a tan... will last for another hour or so!
Well yes...I guess it could have been my sadness at the fact that you were missing for an entire week. I almost did not know what to do with myself.
If I can get a couple of free minutes this week, I'll attempt to drop by.
Well - if you are a hobbling freak... then don't come. I have an inherit fear of people with nubs where feet used to be.
What is with the nub business?
JED - the prop was OFF....we were swimming. I just hit my foot on it and bruised it. No blood. :)
Little accident this weekend? You ok?
Definitely fine. I just wansn't paying attention when I was swimming near the boat. I am pretty clutzy so I wind up with random bruises all the time. Jed was making more of it than actually what was there.
That pube talk was hilarious and sickening. I was laughing and throwing up simultaneously.
What's with all the pictures of you holding the camera? We saw much better ones on Saturday. (you gotta put a link or something up for Heather's)
Seriously
BTW-Hey does anyone want to join a fantasy football league that I'm starting?
Nice pick QueenB
Damfino: Do you happen to know if Bob and Jody are going to come on Friday?
Urnotme: Did you get the copy of the screenplay I sent along?
Nice.
Are you at work today?
Who does not want to see a picture of me that I took... Come on urnotme... be honest!
Fantasy football..cool.
OMB Kern
I meant to email you on that. Thanks. I got it and read the first few lines. I haven't had a lot of time, but I'm going to print it off and read it this week. I've never read a screenplay before so it should be interesting.
OUT
So, you're down with fantasy football huh?
Send me the email address you want invited on. stevensdh@msn.com
anyone else?
Queen B: I have to say again that punk rock painting on your blog was awesome! I just finished a new piece over the weekend, but it was all computer based with Photoshop, but I think it turned out really cool.
Yes, it's true. I do a lot of art with it for my friend's band up here. I might post the pic I finished on the blog tomorrow.
Then I shall post it tomorrow...
Here I sit in class and someone set off their computer so it's making a fun noise. Definitely going to have to leave now.
Yeah. Sounds like a barrel of laughs. I think I'm going to go downstairs in a minute and see if the seamstress at the cleaners can alter my new jeans. They're cool as hell, but too long.
Stupid 34 inch inseam. Do they realize most of us are not Kareen Abdul Jabbar?
Also, the lady who does the alterations makes me a tad nervous. She's an older lady who kind of likes to "manhandle the goods" if you know what I mean.
Kern! Did you just tell a story about being groped by an older seamstress?!?!?
No wonder you don't date much when you get that kind of action for free!
Well, it last time I went it was to get a jacket altered, so it was all above the equator. Nothing too exciting. I'm a little bit worried because this involves my inseam, for Christ's sake. Wish me luck...
By the way Jed, you never answered my earlier inquiry regarding Bob and Jody...
Bob has been told... but you must understand - things go in and out of his ears... no promises.
I worry for you and your inseam Alex. I too struggle from too-long pants but usually I pin up the hem where I want it and kindly ask my mother to sew them for me. She usually obliges.
Well, it went just fine. She went nowhere near the goods. The Charmin was not squeezed. Of course, that would have been the most action I've seen in two years, but hey, it's ok.
I am far too jazzed about Friday to let something like my lack of action with the ladies bother me. At least right now.
the charmin was not squeezed... classic
Thank you, thank you...
She's going to have them hemmed by tomorrow. She's quick! And they will retain the original hem!
I assume everyone's left for the day?
good thing you were there or we I might of missed the half screen of the lake.
