Bring on the food, fun, and freak show

Get excited. Get pumped. Get out your old and nasty clothes.

It's IOWA STATE FAIR time again!

If you can, I highly suggest the following for a meal at the fair:

• Freshly squeezed lemonade (from the stand by the pig barn)
• A lamb kabob and cheeseburger fries (appetizers)
• BBQ Chicken and Baked Beans (main meal)
• A strawberry milkshake (from the dairy producers)
• A pork chop on a stick and a guinea grinder (for energy to get you across the grounds)
• Fried Cheese Curds, a carmel apple and hot chocolate chip cookies (dessert)
• An ice-cold margarita (in front of the grandstand)

After that....you'll be ready to see the fair. Have fun!!!
