Powerless

Jerry and I decided to relive some of our more youthful activities this weekend; we did a little mini golf... read some comics... and snuck into a movie for free. Here is how it works.

1. Buy a ticket to one early movie.
2. Make sure that film ends just before another film begins.
3. Leave the theater - head to the bathroom - hang out until beginning of the next picture.
4. Walk right in with the next crowd.

I suppose it is not too complex - but still, saving $8.25 never hurts.

Anyway, we paid to see Wedding Crashers - it was phenomenal!!! Vaughn and Wilson are on it! Absolutely cannot wait to watch it again with more buds.

We snuck into The Island, which was not nearly as entertaining. Michael Bay has a way of completely undermining his interesting visuals and story with terrible puns and head scratching violence excess. The movie could have been really good - if things were reigned in a tad. It dropped a huge 60% this weekend at the box office (and opening 4th place last week was not a good start). By contrast, Crashers moved from 2nd to 1st, raking in over $20 million this weekend (dropping only 20% business, it dropped only 23% last weekend - good movies have staying power!).

Had a nice weekend - little drinking... little Homemakers visiting with Hol and Dan... power went out on our block Sunday morning... it was out until about 9:45 P.M. That made life a little interesting.

Next weekend - DUKES - Kreitner's are coming!!! Hick swirv is on!!

I also played miniature golf this weekend, and did very poorly. However, it was great fun and I enjoyed myself thoroughly.

I am regretful that I will be unable to make the meeting of the Tea Bag Posse, but Kern in full on country regalia might have caused some major stomach illness among those viewing him.

I'm currently trying to figure out a way to see both Neko Case and The Black Keys right now. Hopefully I get something figured out.

Good morning peeps. Yeah that was wretched old school talk there. I can't think - I am so tired and I have a damn final exam this afternoon.

Anyway....way excited about the movie this weekend - Saturday night right??

Who is deleting comments??

Reality TV --- only very few of those shows actually make it to my viewing list for the week. Too trashy and a waste of my precious time. Though...I highly recommend Bridezillas on WE because it's hilarious and slightly demented.

Weekend talk...everyone enjoy theirs?? I met my boyfriend's parents and they are normal. Whew! That's a huge relief.

The Dan Band was really good. If you caught them on BRAVO a few months ago, that shows exactly what they are like. It was a fun show - overly crowded with fans though - but they are quite hilarious. I recommend going to see them - they have been selling out all their shows. Also...they have good crowd participation sets and great dance moves!

Sounds like fun. We were out for my friend's belated birthday celebration. We played Balderdash after that. Good times.

Oh yes, and let me enter "cheap shill" mode for a moment...There's some relatively interesting news about some artwork I did for my friend's band up at my blog.

Congrats on the artwork!

What's up?

Jed failed to poing out how he did at Mini Golf. I wonder why? How about maybe because I had 2 holes in one and crushed him to win. And speaking of crushing- maybe we should get his thoughts on our arm wrestling exploits again.

Sometimes I hate to win.

Wait...No I don't.

I have Wed off SOOOO I'm going to find some items to be able to COWBOY UP on Sat....I'm thinking about going black.... cause they say once you do you never go back

urnotme said...

Oh and by go black I meant with the Cowboy Hat and Boots not dick.

Thanks guys! I have a lot more that I'll be submitting to the site. While I am still a relative newbie at painting and drawing(since last November), I've been doing work in Photoshop for the past five years, so I'm a bit more comfortable in that "medium" if one calls it that.

The piece I put up last week with the Latin is being made into a fine art print right now. I'm excited to see how it turns out. If it looks good I may try to do a print on demand thing and do a limited run of them. Who would buy them is a mystery right now, but I could figure that later.

urnotme - AWESOME on the boots and such. I found Jed a pair of cowboy boots - I won't go into what I had to trade Dantastic to get those boots, but let's just say it was an uber fun weekend.

LOL---uber something I'm guessing!

Ya'll have a good day- I am out for now!!

Deit: I think it would be cool to be a graphic designer, but I don't know that I've got the skills neccesary to do it for a living.

All you have to do is submit your work to a potential job and they have to like it for you to get it. You can always try!!!

krysta jo said...

Sheriff - it doesn't work that way. Only....

GROSS JED

And I didn't mention what I had to do.....here's the list: 1. Meet his favorite cousin 2. Meet his best friend and best friend's wife 3. Meet his parents.

I felt like I was on a damn job interview all weekend long.

Sheriff - GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER! :)

My mind was in there with Sheriff's to be honest. I am so ashamed.

I agree with deit.

You all ought to know I don't kiss and tell....silly kids.

Deit: That sounds pretty cool. I don't have any formal experience and/or education in the Arts. But I can drink, as evidenced by the pictures of the Kern Returns Throwdown.
